· Personal experiences talk about yourself,
things you have done, hobbies you have, places you have been, favorite memories, stories passed down through the generations.
· Jobs - Explain your job to people who probably know nothing
about what you do. Talk about previous jobs youve had (your first
one?)
· Dreams & Goals where are you going?
How are you going to get there? What do you envision your
children or young relatives will be when they grow up. If only you could,
what would you do?
· What do you know a little about that interests you? Research that subject and tell us all about it.
· What have you always wondered about?
Find out the answers and explain it to your audience.
· When you read books, magazines, books and newspapers, think about speech topics. Let the stories give you a direction for a speech.
Do a book review on a book you enjoyed.
· Seasonal interest speak about the season of the year. Tie in memories or plans for the season that your audience can relate to.
· Explain the history of common expressions used.
· Do an extemporaneous speech.
· A debate or team speech
· conversational speech (planned or ad-lib); an interactive speech
· monologue or one-act play.
· Recite a historical speech (i.e., Lincolns address)
· Use visual aids to enhance your speech.
· Use the TM meeting as a practice run for a report or presentation you need to
give.
· Think out of the box and present something unusual

· Take advantage of the TM resources (techniques on giving speeches)
